Our summer issue of The Scoop has video links on paw pad safety, why we see a rise in pets with cancer as well as information on our Check-In and Check-Out procedures due to the pandemic. We also welcome our new ER doctors who have recently joined our VCA California Veterinary Specialists’ family.
Our Check-In and Check-Out Procedures,
The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented challenge for all of us. We hope that you and your families are well and remain well.
We are continuing to implement our Check-In/Check-Out policy that involves calling us from our parking lot once you arrive.
Carlsbad 760-431-2273 | Murrieta 951-600-9803 | Ontario 909-947-3600
Once your arrival is confirmed, we will check you in as soon as possible from outside the hospital. Our goal is to keep our essential services available, so we may continue to provide the same level of care to your pet and you.
We ask for your patience and cooperation as we abide by our safety procedures as we handle increased phone calls. Thank you for doing your part in helping keep pets and people safe.

Surface Temperatures Can Burn Paws
- Walk your pup early or late in the day when temperatures have cooled.
- Even if the air doesn’t feel hot, or the surface has shade, before taking your dog out, test the surface by touching it with the palm of your hand or bare feet. If it’s too hot for you, then it’s too hot for them.
